As a human rights activist, has been a writer and journalist reporting on developments in the Middle East for over 15 years, with particular emphasis on the human rights situation. He has close ties with NGO’s based in the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa and maintains contacts with the region‘s key political authority figures, and prominent journalists.
In 2003, he founded a non-profit organization working on the ground in Syria. Its nearly 200 members provide news coverage of the Syrian Revolution.
He has been a speaker at a number of international human rights conferences and over the past nine years has trained more than 400 journalists and citizen journalists. He is the author of two novels.
